LUMBERTON — Daniel G. Joyner has been named director of Surgical Services for Southeastern Health.
Joyner is responsible for surgery, pre-admission testing, the post-anesthesia care unit, endoscopy, central sterilizing and anesthesia.
Joyner earned an associate degree in Nursing from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in May 2001. He also completed a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., in May 2009 and a master’s degree in Nursing/Health Care Administration from American Sentinel University in Aurora, Colo., in April 2014.
He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in health care administration from American Sentinel University with an expected completion date of December 2018. He is also pursuing certification as a nurse executive advanced and in health care finance management.
He has served in a number of roles throughout his career including director of Surgical Services, advisory board member of community colleges, operating room manager, post-anesthesia care unit, nursing instructor, circulating nurse, surgical technician and central sterilizing technician.
A native of Iowa who recently relocated from Houston, Texas, Joyner lives in Lumberton.
