LUMBERTON — Hip Pocket will conclude the 2016 Alive After 5 series on Thursday.

Hip Pocket is a regular in the Alive After 5 line-up each year. The group has been compared to the Band of Oz and Bill Deal and The Rhondels. The band’s set list includes songs by Taylor Swift, Def Leppard, R. Kelly, Michael Buble and Daft Punk among others.

Hip Pocket is the fifth and final band to perform in this year’s Alive After 5 series. The concert will begin at 7 p.m. and is free to the public.

The variety band’s vocals are lead by Eric Stephenson with “Little” John Thompson on bass, vocals, keyboard and drums. The band also features Michael Maffeo on saxophone, vocals and keyboard; Dustin York on guitar, vocals, bass and drums; Tim Sidden on keyboard and vocals; Frankie Hoggard on drums; Preston Honeycutt on guitar and sound.

In addition to street parking, free parking will be available in the lot behind the old BB&T building, at the corner of Third and Water streets, and at the corner of Fourth and Water streets. Parking is not allowed on the plaza.
