FAIRMONT — A 24-year-old Fairmont man suffered serious injuries when he was shot Monday while feeding his puppy, according to Fairmont Police Chief Kimothy Monroe.
Jonathan Cole McRee was shot several times outside of his Market Street home just after midnight Sunday, Monroe said.
According to Monroe, McRee had gone outside to feed his dog and saw a person in his yard dressed in black.
“The unknown assailant began shooting at McRee, striking him several times about the body before fleeing the scene,” Monroe said.
According to Monroe, McRee’s girlfriend was inside the house at the time, but was not injured. McRee was taken to Southeastern Regional Medical Center. His condition was unavailable.
