LUMBERTON — City officials say West Fifth Street, which was one of the hardest hit areas of Hurricane Matthew, is now open to motorists.

According to city officials, Interstate 95 South can be accessed for West Fifth Street, but not the northward lane of the interstate. City officials also discourage people from going out “sightseeing,” saying that any unnecessary travel clogs roads and slows the delivery of supplies and equipment needed for the recovery.
