LUMBERTON — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder and attempted murder in an incident that occurred last month, according to Lumberton police Capt. Terry Parker

Parker said in a statement that Ryan Dale Hunt, of the 200 block of Warwick Mill Road, was arrested without incident on Monday at about 4:30 p.m. when a tipster led police and U.S. marshals to a residence on the 600 block of St. James Circle in Lumberton. Hunt was taken into custody without incident.

Hunt is charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 15 shooting death of Cameron Brewington and with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in the attempted shooting of Dakota McDonald.

Hunt was placed in the Robeson County jail under no bond on the murder charge and under $25,000 on the assault charge, according to the statement.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office assisted in the investigation.
