LUMBERTON — Lumberton’s Owen Thomas was recently elected Lt. Governor for Division 26 of the Kiwanis Carolinas District.
Thomas has spent nine years as a senior account executive at Dial Insurance Agency, and two years as a NC Realtor at RE/MAX Real Estate Exchange. He is also serving his second term on the Lumberton City Council and on the League of Municipalities board of directors.
“During the hours when I’m not working, I spend time with my son, Lexington. I enjoy service to my community, fitness, outdoors (kayaking on Lumber River), live music, and cooking (grill master). I attend First Baptist Church,” Thomas said.
Thomas’ current and past involvement includes serving as president of the Kiwanis of Robeson-Lumberton, Robeson Road Runners and Robeson County Humane Society; as well as serving on the Robeson County Home Builders Association, Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce, St. Alban’s Lodge No. 114 of AF&AM, Robeson County Shrine Club, Robeson County Public Library’s Friends of the Library and The University of North Carolina at Pembroke’s Alumni Association Board.
Thomas was named Kiwanian of the Year in 2015.
