Singletary Baptist Church will host a community afternoon gathering on Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m. The gathering will feature food, Vacation Bible School registration and ice cream. Christ Worship Center, located at 4453 Black Bridge Road in Parkton, will host a Family Festival Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. First Baptist Church of Fairmont will host its second annual JJ Johnson Scholarship Golf Tournament on Aug. 13 at Pinecrest Country Club in Lumberton. Registration and check-in will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. The cost to play is $50 per player or $200 per team. Fees include green fees, cart, range balls, scoring, water, juice and a catered lunch.
