The final week of the regular season for high school football yielded three wins for Robeson County teams, with Lumberton, Red Springs and South Robeson emerging as the victors.

The Red Devils capped their regular season on Thursday with a 75-19 drubbing of West Columbus. On Friday night, the Mustangs earned a 38-12 win over East Columbus and the Pirates won a 35-32 thriller over Hoke.

Fairmont lost its battle for the Three Rivers Conference championship, dropping a 48-26 contest at South Columbus. St. Pauls lost its second consecutive game with a 41-20 defeat at Whiteville.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

South Robeson: Yes, the Mustangs only have two wins on the season. But their second win — a 38-12 rout of East Columbus — cemented a spot in the NCHSAA playoffs. Darrius Brown led the way with one of the best two-way performances of the season, finishing with three touchdowns, including one on defense. South Robeson hasn’t had much to celebrate this season, but a win on Senior Night is always sweet.
