Herman Wolff Jr
LUMBERTON — Herman Wolff Jr., 88, of Lumberton, formerly of Raleigh, passed away on April 14, 2013, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, 200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, N.C., 27603.
He was born in Wake County on Oct. 27, 1924, to the late Herman Wolff Sr. and the late Anna Keyes Wolff.
Wolff was a WWII Navy veteran and a recipient of The Order of the Long Leaf Pine. He practiced law in Raleigh for over 50 years and has resided in Lumberton for the past six years. He served as a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lumberton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Bill Wolff; and three sisters, Agnes Jones, Margaret Marks and Dorita Nelli.
Wolff is survived by his wife, Carol W. Wolff of the home; two sons, Herman Wolff III and wife Carol of Portland, Ore., and Jordan F.X. Wolff and wife Deborah of Poquoson, Va.; three daughters, Bobbie Wolff, Mary Wolff Knight, both of Raleigh, Yates Wolff Baldacchino and husband Gordon of Cherry Grove, S.C.; a stepson, James W. Williams of New Church, Va.; two stepdaughters, JoAnne W. Branch and husband David of Lumberton and Lynn W. Pierce and husband J. Perry of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Thomas Wolff of Allenton, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc., 809 E. Fifth St., Lumberton.
