FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — Fayetteville police have charged a man with first-degree murder in a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded.
Police said in a news release that shots were fired into a Fayetteville home around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities say 47-year-old Ronald Potts was killed and a second person was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police say 21-year-old Russell McCants-McGill has been arrested and faces murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a felon and other charges. He is being held in jail and it wasn’t known if he had an attorney
