PEMBROKE — A Fairmont man is wanted by Pembroke police after a shooting in the early hours of Sunday left one man dead and another seriously injured.
Issiaach Jermall McLellan, 26, of Fairmont, has been identified as a suspect in the shooting death of Charles Hunt, 36, of Fairmont, and the injury of Corey Jones, 26, of Maxton, according to Pembroke Police Chief Grant Florita.
According to a statement by Florita, McLellan shot Hunt and Jones in a parking lot at 26 Commerce Plaza Circle in Pembroke at about 2:35 a.m. Sunday.
Felony warrants have been issued charging McLellan with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and three counts of assault by pointing and assault with a deadly weapon.
Erich Hackney of the Robeson County District Attorney’s Office assisted in the investigation and advised anyone who comes into contact with McLellan that he should be considered “armed and extremely dangerous.”
