ORRUM — A Robeson County man was killed in a head-on collision on N.C. 130 Tuesday, according to the state Highway Patrol, and a South Carolina woman is likely to face criminal charges.
Jason Jesse Rogers, 33, of Orrum, was traveling east on the highway when the accident occurred.
According to an accident report, a Mitsubishi being driven by Teresa Michelle Thomas crossed the center-line and struck Rogers’ Chevrolet head-on.
According to the Highway Patrol, charges are pending against Thomas, 46, who is from Lake View, South Carolina.
The accident occurred at about 6:50 p.m. Speed was not a factor, the Highway Patrol said.
Rogers died at the hospital after the accident. The Highway Patrol said Thomas also suffered injuries but the extent of them was not available.
Both vehicles were destroyed.
The accident is the fourth fatal accident on Robeson County roads in 10 days. Three of those killed were 5 years old or younger.
